The WUE/Cougar Award, recognizes out-of-state students with exceptional academic ability. This four year award is offered to top incoming first-year and transfer students. First-year students with a 3.0 unweighted high school grade point average may be eligible for the Distinguished Cougar Award/ WUE, valued at $11,000 per academic year - even more than the standard Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) rate. To qualify for the WUE Cougar Award for transfer students, students need a 3.0 transfer GPA, if transferring with 27+ transferable semester credit hours. Qualified students receive the award automatically, but must have a complete Admission application by March 31st for first-year students and July 15th for transfer students.
