Washington State University

The WUE/Cougar Award, recognizes out-of-state students with exceptional academic ability. This four year award is offered to top incoming first-year and transfer students. First year students with a 3.4 unweighted high school grade point average may be eligible for the Distinguished Cougar Award/ WUE, valued at $11,000 per academic year - even more than the standard Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) rate. Those first year students with a 3.0-3.39 may receive a $7,000 per year award. To qualify for the WUE Cougar Award for Transfer students, students need a 3.0 transfer GPA, if transferring with 27+ transferable semester credit hours. Qualified students receive the award automatically, but must have a complete Admission application by January 31st.
