Black Hills State University will award the Interstate Passport to students who complete all 6 SDBOR General Education Goals totaling 30 credits. The 6 SDBOR General Education Goals will be considered met for students transferring to BHSU with a completed Passport from another Passport school. Students must take one course from the approved Oral Communication list. This course will satisfy SDBOR General Education Goal #2.

Students must take both ENGL 101 and 201 which will satisfy SDBOR General Education Goal #1.

Students must take one course from the approved Quantitative Literacy list. This course will satisfy SDBOR General Education Goal #5.

Students must take two courses with corresponding labs from the approved Natural Sciences list. These courses will satisfy SDBOR General Education Goal #6.

Courses from the Human Cultures and Creative Expression lists will satisfy SDBOR General Education Goal #4. Students must take one approved course from each area. The two courses must be from different subjects.

ENGL 101 and ENGL 201, which are required to fulfill the Written Communication block, will also meet the learning outcomes for the Critical Thinking block. No additional courses are required for this area.

Courses from the Creative Expression and Human Cultures lists will satisfy SDBOR General Education Goal #4. Students must take one approved course from each area. The two courses must be from different subjects.

The Teamwork and Value Systems learning outcomes are achieved through the science lectures and labs used to fulfill the Natural Sciences block. No additional courses are required for this area.

Students must take two courses from the approved Human Society and The Individual list. These courses will satisfy SDBOR General Education Goal #3. The two courses must be from different subjects.
