As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes increasingly embedded into educational settings and practices, it offers both opportunities and challenges. This webcast featured discussions of the recently published report, which explores the intersection of AI and accessibility, including:

  • an overview of key concepts in accessibility, AI, and their relevance in higher education,
  • an examination of the specific challenges faced by people with disabilities due to biases in AI,
  • insights on using AI as an assistive technology in educational settings,
  • and practical advice for implementing AI in a way that promotes inclusivity.

With the goal of shifting the conversation around AI in higher education beyond topics like academic integrity or the student experience and instead encouraging a focus on how AI can promote accessibility and inclusion, panelists shared practical advice for educators and administrators on implementing and using AI inclusively.
