QUARTERLY WEBINAR: Leading from the Middle during Turbulent Times: What You Need to Know about Legal Issues and Effective Communications

Campus leaders, including senior academic officers, chief student affairs officers, and others play key roles in handling delicate, complex, or divisive issues on campus. While the presidents are public facing and responsible for interacting with their boards, legislators, the public, etc. during a crisis, they collaborate and rely on their senior teams to ensure appropriate and orderly responses to crises and difficult situations.  This webinar aims to equip senior campus leaders with resources and useful information so they can serve as the nexus to students, staff, faculty, and the community and promote effective communication. These leaders will share their thoughts and advice on recent and future campus unrest and protests with webinar attendees. The webinar will include:

  • Developing crisis communications and proactive plans intended for use by leaders from across the campus (Collaboration)
  • Understanding how free speech and academic freedom are operationalized at colleges and universities (Legal Issues)
  • Connecting with campus and external community members in tough conversations (Communication)

Join us for a stimulating and informative 60-minute conversation between a president/state system leader, student affairs and communications senior leaders, and a general counsel to understand how they prepare for campus protests. After hearing their insightful comments and suggestions, you will leave the webinar with tips and resources to assist your campus.

This session is intended for members of the Alliance and Forum, their team members, and colleagues. We encourage you and your team to participate in this conversation, which aims to inspire strategic discussions with your colleagues before, during, and after a crisis.

This webinar costs $29 for Forum and Alliance Members or $49 for non-members. Purchase once and share with your entire team! Instructions for live webinar access for your group are provided to you immediately upon checkout.
