Student and Graduate Testimonials
Here's what students and graduates are saying about WICHE's Student Exchange Programs
"With WUE, I feel like I was able to relax a bit more and enjoy my time at school knowing that I wouldn't be paying as much tuition."
— Monique, Nevada resident, Class of 2018, Northern Arizona University, Interior Design
"Thanks to WUE, I'm able to pursue my passion of photography with a double minor in anthropology and ethnic studies. I ultimately hope to join the Peace Corps after I graduate and then come back to the states, get my masters, and become a college professor myself."
— Shelby, Washington resident, Class of 2020, Northern Arizona University, Photography
"WUE has helped to make my college more affordable by lessening my out of pocket costs, giving me one less thing to stress about."
— Caitlin, California resident, Class of 2021, Northern Arizona University, Accountancy
"WUE has helped me immensely, in not only being able to go to college here in California, but also to do so debt free."
— Cristina, Washington resident, Class of 2019, California State University, Sacramento, History
"With WUE, I was able to broaden my horizons and look at other schools in neighboring states nearby. My major requires traveling and stepping out of my comfort zone, so to be able to start my education in a city unknown was just one of the first steps to prepare me for my future."
— Jazmin, Nevada resident, Class of 2019, California State University, Sacramento, International Business
"I grew up poor, and even though I worked for over a year before leaving for college I had no money saved. Having WUE allowed me to leave my home state and pursue the career of my dreams without adding on even more debt. I am very grateful for it."
— Isabelle, Alaska resident, Class of 2021, Idaho State University, The Art of Theater and Film
"Coming from a small island-territory in the Pacific (the CNMI), it is my dream to graduate from a university in mainland America. Because of WUE, the money my family has saved on tuition will help me see the world and further my education."
— Angela, USPAC resident, Class of 2020, Boise State University, Political Science emphasis on International Relations

— Ji Won, USPAC resident, 2020, University of Hawaii at Manoa, Biology
"I studied and worked in the accounting industry prior to re-enrolling at Metro State to complete a degree that I had started there several years earlier. When I learned about the WUE program, I knew then that I could fulfill my dream and earn my bachelor's in accounting. Thank you for this wonderful program! I plan to spread the word to others about WUE, and how it can help achieve dreams and goals. "
— Tammy, South Dakota resident, Class of 2017, Metro State University of Denver, Bachelor of Science in Accounting

"WUE is such a great program. It helped me achieve my academic goals by allowing me to attend a college outside my home state for reduced tuition. It cut my college debt in half! Thank you so much for allowing me to participate in WUE."
— Dietrich, Wyoming resident, Class of 2016, Western New Mexico University, Bachelor's of Interdisciplinary Studies
"I am from a small, rural island known as Saipan, which is found in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. The community college there didn't offer all of the classes I needed for my major. Fortunately, our government became a member of WICHE, so I have more options. WUE gave me an affordable post-secondary education and a first-rate science education. I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa, majoring in biology. Once I graduate, I plan to pursue pharmacy school. Without WICHE's WUE program, I would not have been able to pursue better educational opportunities in order to fulfill my academic and future professional goals, And for that, my parents and I are forever grateful."
— Aldreen, USPAC resident, Class of 2018, University of Hawai'i at Mānoa, Biology
"After five years away from the classroom I was ready to progress in my education, but given the high nonresident tuition, it seemed impossible. I applied for the discounted WUE rate and got it! I was overwhelmed with relief. Now, I'm back on track to obtain my RN degree. I couldn't be happier knowing that I don't have to pay a fortune. It makes me happy to know that WUE is there to help people like me get a second shot at their dreams. Thank you!!"
— Joshua, Utah resident, Class of 2019, Pueblo Community College, Nursing
