To accomplish NANSLO’s vision of creating a network of remote web-based laboratories located at institutions across North America with each location, or node on the network, having one or more laboratories with a wide selection of equipment, supporting multiple science fields, serving its own students and possibly those of other participating institutions, it continuously is seeking out and participating in new initiatives.

Consortium for Healthcare Education Online (CHEO) Initiative - As part of a $14M Department of Labor Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) grant, NANSLO is developing 12 new remote web-based experiments, expanding the capabilities at its existing nodes and building a new NANSLO node.
Next Generation Learning Challenges (NGLC) Initiative - Completed in December 2012, this initiative provided funds went toward creating the NANSLO consortium, established a NANSLO node in Denver and developed commonly licensed curriculum for basic science classes in biology, chemistry and physics utilizing NANSO remote web-based lab experiments as part of the curriculum.
