Mark DeKraai, JD, PhD
Mark DeKraai is with the University of Nebraska Public Policy Center where he directs the NEBHANDS project, a statewide effort to develop an integrated behavioral health system of care that incorporates faith-based and community organizations. He also directs projects related to child and family behavioral health and community-based systems of care. Prior to joining the University of Nebraska, he spent 18 years in state government administering programs in the areas of mental health, substance abuse, developmental disabilities, child welfare and juvenile justice. As Child and Family Mental Health Administrator for the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, he developed and administered the Professional Partner Program, a statewide effort to provide a wraparound approach for children with serious emotional disorders and their families. He served as Principle Investigator for two SAMHSA grants to develop and evaluate comprehensive children’s mental health systems of care.
