Internet Course Exchange (ICE)

Course Quality Policy

Whereas, quality online learning is a fundamental goal of the WICHE ICE consortium, all participating institutions shall demonstrate programs of quality assurance in the development and delivery of courses. Recognizing that quality assurance is the purview and responsibility of each participating institution, the members agree that they will:

  • Provide the means and opportunity to share information about course quality assurance programs implemented or in process as a resource for other institutions.

  • Provide a means to share student course evaluation forms with the faculty member teaching a particular course being shared by WICHE ICE member institutions at the faculty member’s request.

  • Offer to the consortium only those courses that meet or exceed their respective institutional standards of quality.

WICHE ICE describes its expectations through acceptable examples of course quality in the standards outlined in the following documents. These, and comparable guidelines developed in the future, shall be made available from the WICHE ICE web site. Their purpose is to support the development of commonly accepted expectations of quality among member institutions.
